Horme terms and conditions
These terms govern your use of Horme, an evidence-based training, nutrition and recovery app available as a mobile app and as a web app. By installing, opening or using Horme you accept what is set out here. If you disagree with any part of it, do not use the app.
How your data is handled is explained separately, in the Privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
This is an English translation of the Spanish original. If the two ever diverge, the Spanish version prevails.
1. Who provides Horme
Horme is developed and provided by Somatryx (“the developer”, “we”, “us”). You can reach us at Somatryx.dev@gmail.com about anything to do with the app or with these terms.
2. The most important part: Horme is not a medical service
Horme is educational and informational material. It is not a medical device, it does not diagnose, and it does not replace assessment by a professional in healthcare, sports medicine, physiotherapy or nutrition.
Training plans, calorie and macronutrient targets, recovery scores, body-composition estimates, projections and Fito's answers are indicative. They are built on general-purpose formulas and literature, not on your medical history.
Consult a professional before starting an exercise programme or changing your diet, particularly if you are pregnant or postpartum, if you have an injury or a cardiovascular, metabolic or respiratory condition, if you take medication, or if you have or have had an eating disorder. If you feel chest pain, dizziness, faintness or sharp joint pain, stop exercising and seek medical attention. In an emergency, call your country's emergency number.
Training with loads and changing how you eat carry risk. You take responsibility for your own decisions and for performing exercises with safe technique and a load suited to your level.
3. Who may use the app
- You must be at least 16, or the minimum age your country's law requires to accept these terms and to consent to data processing. If you are a minor above that minimum age, you need permission from your parent or legal guardian.
- Horme is not aimed at children under 13 and must not be used below that age.
- You use the app in a personal capacity. It is not intended for prescribing training or diets to other people, nor for clinical use.
4. Your account
- You can use Horme as a guest, with no account: your data stays on the device and is not synced.
- If you create an account (email and password, Google or Apple), you are responsible for keeping your credentials safe and for activity carried out with them. Tell us if you believe someone has accessed your account.
- The data synced to your account is described in the Privacy policy. Syncing is a convenience, not a guaranteed backup service: export your data from Settings from time to time if keeping it matters to you.
- You can close your account and delete your data whenever you want, from Settings or by following the instructions on this page.
5. Acceptable use
In using Horme you agree not to:
- Use it for any unlawful purpose, or in a way that infringes anyone else's rights.
- Attempt to access other people's accounts, data or systems, or to bypass usage limits, authentication or service quotas.
- Automate use of the AI assistant or any online feature to generate disproportionate load, resell access, or scrape content in bulk.
- Copy, redistribute or commercialise the app's content beyond what these terms and the third-party licences below permit.
- Put third-party content into the app that you have no rights over (for example, photographs of other people without their permission).
6. Your data and your content
What you record in Horme — your profile, workouts, meals, measurements, notes and progress photos — is yours. We claim no ownership over it.
You grant us only the technical permission strictly needed to operate the app as you use it: storing it on your device, syncing it to your account if you turn syncing on, and transmitting it to an AI provider when you are the one who triggers that feature. Nothing else: we do not publish it, share it or use it for advertising. The detail is in the Privacy policy.
You can export your data at any time from Settings (JSON backup and CSV export) and erase it completely by uninstalling the app or deleting your account.
7. Fito, the AI assistant
Fito is an optional feature that generates text using third-party artificial-intelligence models. It can be used in two ways:
- With your own API key: the request travels from your device straight to the provider you choose. The cost of that usage is yours and is governed by your contract with that provider; we play no part in that relationship or in its billing.
- “Fito included”: the request passes through a Horme server that verifies your session, applies a usage quota and forwards it to the provider. The quota exists to keep the service sustainable and may change; if it runs out, Fito stops answering until the next period, or you can carry on using it with your own key.
Fito's answers may be wrong, incomplete or out of date, even when they cite content from the app. They are not medical, nutritional or personalised training advice. Check anything important before acting on it.
Fito can propose changes to your routine, but never applies them without your explicit confirmation. You decide.
8. Subscriptions and payments
Horme is entirely free today. There is no active subscription, no locked feature and no possible charge: no paid product exists in any store yet. This section describes how billing will work once it is switched on, and it is published in advance precisely so that nobody meets it as a surprise.
8.1 Announced prices
When subscriptions go live, Premium will cost:
| Market | Monthly | Yearly |
|---|---|---|
| Colombia (COP) | $ 24,990 | $ 149,990 |
| Rest of the world (USD) | US$ 9.99 | US$ 59.99 |
In other countries the amount is shown in your local currency, converted by the store itself from the US dollar price and adjusted to its usual rounding. In both cases the yearly plan costs half of twelve separate months.
The price that governs is the one the store shows you on the purchase screen — not the one in this table, nor on any other page of ours. That amount already includes whatever taxes apply in your country, which vary. If they ever disagree, the store's price is what is charged and what counts.
8.2 How billing works
- Purchases are made and charged through the relevant app store (Google Play or the App Store). That store handles payment, invoicing and renewal. Horme never receives or stores your card details.
- Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period at the price then in force, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You are charged when you confirm the purchase and on each renewal.
- How to cancel: from your store account, not from inside Horme. On Android, Play Store › Payments and subscriptions; on iOS, Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions. On cancelling you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
- Refunds: governed by the policy of the store that took the payment, and by whatever rights consumer law gives you in your country. In Colombia that includes the right of withdrawal under Law 1480 of 2011 (Consumer Statute) where applicable.
8.3 Price changes
- Prices may change. A price change never applies to a period already paid for, and is notified in advance on the terms and timescales each store requires.
- If the price of your subscription goes up, the store will notify you and — where its policy or the law requires it — your express consent will be needed to keep charging you. If you do not give it, the subscription is cancelled rather than renewed at the new price.
8.4 Founder programme
- If you signed up during the launch window, you were granted 3 months of Premium free of charge, counting from the day billing is switched on, not before. The months are sealed into your sign-up record: a later trimming of the programme does not shorten them.
- It is a time-limited promotion and carries no other promise: no lifetime discount, no frozen price. If a founder discount on the subscription is ever offered, it will be announced expressly beforehand.
- Once the free period is used up, continuing to use paid features will require a subscription. Free features stay free, and nothing that is free today moves into Premium (see §8.5).
8.5 What will never be charged for
This is a commitment, not a description of the current plan: no feature that is free today will become paid. Premium will only ever cover new capabilities. In particular the following stay free, unlimited and account-free: logging workouts, the full exercise catalogue and its animations, the nutrition diary, daily recovery, the watches, your charts and history, exporting your own data, and using Fito with your own AI key. Horme will also never show advertising or sell your data, in either the free version or Premium.
9. Wearables and health data
If you enable it, Horme can read data from Health Connect (Android) or the Health app (iOS) — steps, sleep, heart rate, energy expenditure and similar — to refine its calculations. Horme never writes or modifies data on those platforms. You can revoke the permission at any time from your system settings; the app will keep working without that data.
Data from a watch or band is the manufacturer's estimate and may be inaccurate. Horme uses it as received.
9.1 GPS cardio, maps and routes
If you record an activity, Horme reads your device’s location only while recording is running and the app is in the foreground. It is not a navigation system nor a certified measuring instrument: distance, pace, elevation and route are estimates that depend on satellite signal, on the device itself and on your surroundings, and they can deviate noticeably. Do not rely on them in competition, in orienteering, or in any situation where a position error could put you at risk.
The map background is optional, ships turned off, and is served by third parties: Mapbox or Stadia Maps, depending on which you choose. Turning it on also subjects your use of that cartography to that provider’s own terms, not only to these. Two practical consequences worth knowing: their cartography requires the attribution the app draws over the map — do not hide or crop it — and it may not be reused in images or video. That is why what Horme shares from an activity carries its own drawing of the route and never the provider’s tiles. If you supply your own provider key, you maintain that account and you are responsible for its use and billing.
You can export your routes to GPX. Doing so takes data off your device by your own decision: what you do with that file, and where you upload it, is your responsibility. Bear in mind that a route reveals places where you have been.
9.2 What the app understands from your notes
Horme interprets the notes you write during a workout on the device itself and turns them into suggestions. That is what they are: training suggestions. They are not a diagnosis, they do not assess an injury and they do not replace a professional. If something hurts, the right move is to get it looked at, not to adjust the load.
10. Third-party content and licences
- Exercise illustrations: Everkinetic (everkinetic.com), © Greg Priday, licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 (CC BY-SA 4.0).
- Food data: part of the nutritional information comes from Open Food Facts, under the Open Database License (ODbL). It is a collaborative database: it may contain errors or omissions, and it is worth checking the product label.
- Cartography: the optional map background is served by Mapbox or Stadia Maps, each with its own terms, which apply in addition to these when you turn it on (see §9.1).
- AI models: Fito's answers are generated by external providers (Google, Anthropic, OpenAI or DeepSeek, depending on the mode and provider chosen), each with its own terms.
The rest of the app's content — text, lessons, guides, calculation engines, design, brand and code — belongs to the developer or is used under licence. You are granted a personal, limited, revocable, non-transferable licence to use it inside the app. No other rights are transferred to you.
11. Availability and changes to the service
- Horme largely works offline, but online features (account, syncing, Fito included, food search, content updates) depend on third-party services and may be temporarily unavailable.
- The app can download content updates (exercises, lessons, foods) without going through the store. These updates are verified before being applied.
- We may add, change or withdraw features. If we withdraw a paid feature you are using, we will tell you a reasonable time in advance.
12. Warranties and liability
Horme is provided “as is”. To the extent applicable law allows, we do not warrant that the app will be free of errors or interruptions, nor that its calculations, estimates and recommendations are suitable for your particular situation.
To the extent the law allows, we will not be liable for indirect damages, loss of data, loss of profit, or the consequences of training, dietary or health decisions taken on the basis of the app's content. Where liability exists and the law permits it to be limited, it will be limited to the amount you have paid for Horme in the 12 months before the event giving rise to it.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for wilful misconduct, gross negligence, personal injury caused by our negligence, or any rights consumer law gives you on a mandatory basis. If you are a consumer, you keep all of those rights.
13. Suspension and termination
You can stop using Horme whenever you want: by uninstalling the app and, if you wish, deleting your account. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaches these terms, or that puts the service or other people at risk; unless that is impracticable, we will warn you first and give you the chance to export your data.
14. Changes to these terms
If these terms change, this page will be updated with a new “last updated” date. If the change is substantial and affects you — for example, to the payment conditions — you will be notified inside the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Horme after that date means you accept the new terms.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the developer's country of residence, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country where you live, which apply in any event. If you are a consumer in the European Union, you may use the European online dispute resolution platform or your country's consumer bodies.
